We spent an amazing morning on the water with Captain Randy! He was great company and shared a few of his favorite spots with us, including a secluded island beach and delicious seafood restaurant. We also saw several dolphins! He was fantastic with our almost 3 year old son and was more than happy to answer all his questions and even let him drive! We had the absolute BEST time with Randy! We had another charter cancel on us last minute and we luckily found Sandy Toes. It all happened for a reason because it was the best experience. Best boat ride I have ever taken! They were very pet friendly considering it was my dogs first boat ride!!! He loved it and Randy the Captain was very nice! He was talkative enough to carry a good conversation but not so much that you felt you couldn’t have your own. We saw some dolphins and very cool houses! Randy let us pick the music and we got to just relax. Would definitely recommend to anyone who want to see the bay or some dolphins!!
What a great experience we had with Randy! He is very personable and knows all the history in the area. We did a 4 hour charter and it was fantastic. We got to see and hear about all the local attractions. We went to Shell Island which was great and got to hang out and watch some baby or younger dolphins swim around for a bit. Randy went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. This is the place you want to book your next adventure with. I highly recommend!!!
Wow! What a fantastic experience! We did the island tour with dolphin sightings. Sandy toes did not disappoint! Our Captain Randy put us right in the middle of a pod of dolphins! Every side of the boat was dolphins! Then, we visited the island, Irma pass and went shelling! Beautiful beach with lots of shells that are complete and not broken. A history of the area and famous places as we went along was great too! Reservations were easy on their website which was easy to navigate and the customer service at the office was excellent!
Even though it was cold, we had a great time on our boat tour. We got to see several dolphins, beautiful homes, and poor boats that didn’t make it through a storm. Highly recommend. Maybe next time we are in the area it will be warmer than 60 and we can enjoy another ride.
We booked a sunset tour and before we could leave the marina we had a dolphin swimming beside us! We saw so many dolphins! A family with babies swimming near us… just beautiful! We got a great tour of the mansions and the beaches around us. The captain gave lots of information on the homes and restaurants in the area. The sky looked incredible. We got to ride under the bridge on the way home which felt like we were in Venice. Best part of the trip!
Captain Randy Dunham is very knowledgeable of the local history. He provided my, son, 2 granddaughters and their friends with a memorable experience. If you are in the St. Pete/Tampa area you HAVE to book a boat day with Sandy Toes Boat Charters. My best friends and I booked a girls trip to St. Pete and captain Randy and his wife Nicole gave us the best experience possible! We had originally booked a different charter weeks in advance and they ended up cancelling on us the night before. We had to quickly do some research to try and find another boat and Sandy Toes had availability and the short notice was no issue. Nicole was so friendly on the phone and was excited to host us! Captain Randy was SO much fun and you could tell he was an expert! He wanted us to have the best day ever and took us to a little island where we could get out and swim around. They provided ice and water and had a cooler with plenty of storage for our food and beverages. Captain Randy even got off the boat and brought us refills of our drinks while we were on the island. He customized our trip to accommodate what everyone in our party wanted. Due to Randy’s expertise and flexibility, we were able to see some hidden gems that wouldn’t typically be seen on a typical boat tour. I am 14 years old and for the past 2 years I have had Captain Randy bring me and my friends out on the water. He turns up or down the music whenever you like, and has disco lights that make it feel like a real party. He is also a great captain. He makes me and my friends feel safe but also have a good time, and when I turn 15 my friends and I are super excited because we are going out with Sandy Toes charter boat again!

We had an AWESOME adventure with Captain Randy yesterday! The sightings of both dolphins, and a manatee family thrilled the whole family! The swimming was amazing too, water was clear and warm at 84 degrees! We even had a restaurant stop for lunch fit in to our outing! We decided to take a Saturday boat ride out to some islands off the coast of Tampa, and chose Sandy Toes based on a family recommendation.Well, that recommendation was spot on.Captain Randy did an amazing job of showing us around and found an amazing beach for us to chill at.We then did a sunset tour, and came back into the bay. The night time ride across the bay was amazing, and if you get the chance make sure you ask for the disco light!All in all, I would highly recommend Sandy Toes Boat Charters to anyone looking for a skilled Captain who knows the Tampa Bay waters like the back of his hand, and who is fun, funny and a great tour guide.
First of all, Sandy Toes, my favorite kind of feet! Found Captain Randy on the web and booked a 4 hour ride to remember my dad and celebrate his life. Sweet boat and terrific captain, room fore and aft for seating and snacking. We were lucky enough to spend an hour gazing at pods of dolphins leaping and swirling with their young, on to a leisurely stroll on Shell Island, then off to an adventure ride into the Gulf. Finished up with photos in front of the Don Caesar and a magnificent sunset as we played dad's favorite music and flung flowers for him into the sea. It was 4+ hours of absolute bliss. Looking forward to another Capt Randy ride next year❤
Wonderful from start to finish! Booking is super easy and flexible in terms of working out how you want to spend your time. The boat is wonderful and Captain Randy is knowledgeable, capable and kind. We had a spectacular day of dolphins, beaches, snorkeling, lunch and all around relaxation. Having a private tour is important to us to get the most out of our time. we had an awesome day! it was so much fun taking our kids and my mom (visiting from another country) out for the afternoon into sunset. we went to an island and collected sand dollars. then headed back as the sun went down we will definitely book again! it is a great idea for a gift as well. a day to remember for sure!
We scheduled a charter with Captain Randy. He was a very experienced captain having extensive knowledge of the waterways in and around St. Petersburg. We visited a sandbar where we viewed dolphins and watched a beautiful sunset. From there we docked at a restaurant near Pass a grille for dinner followed by a leisurely cruise back to the dock while listening to some great music. Highly recommend.
My mom had come to town in wanted to see the sites so I booked A trip with sandy toes we were able to visit two private islands. Also got to collect a lot of nice shells then we got to see some dolphins. We had to quickly do some research to try and find another boat and Sandy Toes had availability and the short notice was no issue. Nicole was so friendly on the phone and was excited to host us! Captain Randy was SO much fun and you could tell he was an expert! He wanted us to have the best day ever and took us to a little island where we could get out and swim around. They provided ice and water and had a cooler with plenty of storage for our food and beverages. Captain Randy even got off the boat and brought us refills of our drinks while we were on the island. He customized our trip to accommodate what everyone in our party wanted. Due to Randy’s expertise and flexibility, we were able to see some hidden gems that wouldn’t typically be seen on a typical boat tour. I am 14 years old and for the past 2 years I have had Captain Randy bring me and my friends out on the water. He turns up or down the music whenever you like, and has disco lights that make it feel like a real party. He is also a great captain. He makes me and my friends feel safe but also have a good time, and when I turn 15 my friends and I are super excited because we are going out with Sandy Toes charter boat again!
We had an amazing time! Captain Randy and his wife were so kind and so easy to work with. We highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing private boat tour. We have an 8 month old son that we were worried about enjoying it but he absoletely loved it! Saw dolphins? enjoyed beaches ? and learned about some history of the island. 10/10 recommend.
We had an AWESOME adventure with Captain Randy yesterday! The sightings of both dolphins, and a manatee family thrilled the whole family! The swimming was amazing too, water was clear and warm at 84 degrees! We even had a restaurant stop for lunch fit in to our outing! We decided to take a Saturday boat ride out to some islands off the coast of Tampa, and chose Sandy Toes based on a family recommendation.Well, that recommendation was spot on.Captain Randy did an amazing job of showing us around and found an amazing beach for us to chill at.We then did a sunset tour, and came back into the bay. The night time ride across the bay was amazing, and if you get the chance make sure you ask for the disco light!All in all, I would highly recommend Sandy Toes Boat Charters to anyone looking for a skilled Captain who knows the Tampa Bay waters like the back of his hand, and who is fun, funny and a great tour guide.
First of all, Sandy Toes, my favorite kind of feet! Found Captain Randy on the web and booked a 4 hour ride to remember my dad and celebrate his life. Sweet boat and terrific captain, room fore and aft for seating and snacking. We were lucky enough to spend an hour gazing at pods of dolphins leaping and swirling with their young, on to a leisurely stroll on Shell Island, then off to an adventure ride into the Gulf. Finished up with photos in front of the Don Caesar and a magnificent sunset as we played dad's favorite music and flung flowers for him into the sea. It was 4+ hours of absolute bliss. Looking forward to another Capt Randy ride next year❤
Wonderful from start to finish! Booking is super easy and flexible in terms of working out how you want to spend your time. The boat is wonderful and Captain Randy is knowledgeable, capable and kind. We had a spectacular day of dolphins, beaches, snorkeling, lunch and all around relaxation. Having a private tour is important to us to get the most out of our time. And we were rewarded with just that! Not a single caveat to be had. ?

I will use them again next time.I'm a local and wanted to take a group of visiting friends out for the day and it was SO MUCH FUN. Randy had EVERYTHING covered, just bring a cooler and a towel and he has everything else....the local knowledge, even a disco ball. Saw dolphins, manatees....had a blast out on an island with warm clear water, stopped off for dinner and drinks on teh way home, with a super slow cruise back to the dock under the stars. It was SO WORTH IT!! My friends wanted to book a second day...100% recommended!!
we had an awesome day! it was so much fun taking our kids and my mom (visiting from another country) out for the afternoon into sunset. we went to an island and collected sand dollars. then headed back as the sun went down we will definitely book again! it is a great idea for a gift as well. a day to remember for sure!
We scheduled a charter with Captain Randy. He was a very experienced captain having extensive knowledge of the waterways in and around St. Petersburg. We visited a sandbar where we viewed dolphins and watched a beautiful sunset. From there we docked at a restaurant near Pass a grille for dinner followed by a leisurely cruise back to the dock while listening to some great music. Highly recommend.
My mom had come to town in wanted to see the sites so I booked A trip with sandy toes we were able to visit two private islands. Also got to collect a lot of nice shells then we got to see some dolphins. We were able to top off the evening buy some good seafood on the way in.At a nice restaurant on the water.Was very pleased with the experience and Captain Randy’s Experience with the water in the area. I went down to Florida for the first time with Family and got the chance to meet Captain Randy. First off, it was a blast having him take us to all the cool non tourist spots and got to see the waters from a Florida natives' point of view. We had the best time with Captain Randy and Sandy Toes Boat Charters! Spent the day at the beach with soft white sand, saw dolphins swimming next to the boat and watched a glorious sunset. Could not have been more perfect. We’ve already booked for our next trip and we can’t wait!

We took a sunset Cruise with Captain Randy. Generally I'm nervous on boats but Randy had me at ease right away. He took us to a great spot to watch the sunset. It was a perfect evening. I hope to book again soon.

We did a sunset cruise with Captain Randy. We had a wonderful time watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. It was breathtaking. On our way back seeing the stars so close you feel like you can touch them, lighting up the bay. Omg best ever?? Playing music ? for us was magical. Loved it.

Captain Randy doesn’t just like what he does, he absolutely LOVES it! Captain Randy Dunham is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain with a 100 Ton Masters for nearly 30 years. Randy has spent his entire life navigating the Gulf of Mexico and our local waterways. Growing up in Florida has given him an appreciation for the surrounding ecosystem and knowledge of the local wildlife. He captains a 24ft Seahunt Edge with bow and stern seating and tons of amenities.
